SEA OF LIGHT

SEA OF LIGHT

Tobias Symanski says:
This is one of your greatest. I'm your biggest fan from germany. the time will come (i hope then i could afford), and then i will buy some of your prints. Tobias

Ben and David says:
the surrealistic atmosphere of this impressionistic romanticism astounds even the deepest of my archetypal introspections.  the trees on top of the mountains represents the creative force behind what drives Dean to reveal and conceal the strife between the earth and the sky.

M.Firman says:
thanks for your participation on URIAH HEEP works as acover designer .I am a graphic designer and you are my design idol (along with Storm Thorgerson) since I was 3 years old.

Joseph Morse says:
I cannot critique this work from an artists perspective because I just don't feel qualified. All I can say is it's fantastic. A real pleasure to behold.

Luca Giacone says:
With this beautiful picture the URIAH HEEP's album "Sea of light" is really better!!! I love rock music and I love the good painter like Roger.
KEEP THE FAITH ALIVE!!!!!!!!

Stephen Crawford says:
I've been a fan for over 25 years.  My Uriah Heep album cover doesn't do this magnificant painting justice. I know because I had the pleasure of viewing Sea of Light at the UK exhibition. Truly wonderful. Wish I could have afforded it.

Alex Holman says:
A wonderful alien sea of peace and tranquility.

Serge Parolin says:
My son Renaud died 1 week ago at 19 years old after a lukemia. These pictures give a little new sun ray to my life.

Lew Keilar says:

Aged 17 and travelling through Europe from a sheltered life in Australia I was stunned to see Roger Dean architecture adorning entrances to the Paris Metro that was dated early 20th century. In Barcelona, cathedrals apartments and a wonderful park called Guell intoxicated me but weren't sprung from Roger Dean either. What I was seeing were the antecedents to Dean's work-Art Nouveau masterworks;Antony Gaudi's inspired architecture. At that age I was under the spell of the yes covers and Roger's art and knew so little about art history, art movements and any in depth interest in great art.To study Roger's work, to track his influences opens you to the sublime works of Lalique, Gaudi and Mucha;japanese wood-block masters like Hokusai and an understanding of the serenity and purpose of Japanese pebble-gardens. Roger's art has resonances of all these but his vision is his own;unique and inspirational.

Gabriel Rhodes says:
Roger, I am a big fan of Yes. And I am also a fan of your awesome work. All I have to say is that nobody can paint like you do.

anna cole says:

thankyou for your painting they are a great inspiration to my own work and give me energy. wow wot else can i say but your the best artist in the world thankyou for everything you have done for me and never stop painting these works of art thank again so much you make my life worth living thank you!!!!

Mark Corpe says:
This excellent piece show Deans' masterous ability to manipulate oils. The key to the realism of this picture lies in the depth and creation of the shadows in contrast with the phosferecent yellows and blues. Such an ability to create beautiful alien worlds of tranquility and magnificence without losing the sense of reality is truly a gift from God.

Jasper Joppe Geers says:
Sometimes I wander how large the landscapes would be if they were real... Imagina the Keys images, imagine Blue Desert, imagine Red Dragon... Imagine... Can you imagine? And those colours... Picture yourself for example in a situation in the story of Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Imagine you are there, you stroll around the landscapes, and when you arrive at the Lidenbrock sea, you see the Sea of Light... How tall would the left rock be? 1 Mile? 1 and a half mile? It seems rediculous, but it shows one thing for real: The fantasy world of Roger Dean.
How would it be to live and walk on a floating rock? Sea of light is an image i really love because of it's world. It's one of those you'ld love to walk into, and find out for yourself what would happen to the left, or right, or up or down the image. The possibility to explore this world on your own... Sweet travels...

DD says:
This image is very appealing. The fantasy elements are relatively understated and the negative and positive spaces are nicely balanced.

FELIPE A. JARAMILLO says:
It takes us to another dimension where the light is melted in the ocean, displaying the universe of the solitude and tranquility. In Canada From Colombia

jimmy rusas says:
cooolllll....great

Iam of Ilgath says:
I have been there....another time another plane. He invokes Dreamscape Memories .... those places we have all "Seen" when we were trvaeling in the Depths of Great Music ie. Fripp, Floyd, Old Genesis ( when there were five) and of course the obvious YES. He gives those Visions substance. I never met a DEAN I didn't love. Thanks Roger

hasan says:
give me the Energy

Robert Forbes says:
Now just where is that large rock heading off to? Or maybe it is docking, as otherwise it would be heading straight into the prevailing wind. Once again Roger takes us into an Atlantean Golden Age ... ripe with colour and vibrance

Jay Pearson says:
Along with the Yesyears box set, possibly my favorite Roger Dean painting. I love the use of light and the color scheme. The single floating island creates just enough fantasy element to make the unsuspecting look more closely.

Juan Gonzalo Albarrán Alvarado says:
A very good job....and today like yesterday....is like the visual seal of the masters URIAH HEEP.... my congrats and respects to Roger.
J. Gonzalo Albarrán A., MEXICO

Jordan Price says:
This landscape has a variety of emotions that I feel all together. It reminds me of many things and I cant help but look at it over and over again. It takes me to another place like all of Roger Deans creations. A place of quiet and serenity. I love this landscape because its more than it looks, like all of his other brilliant pieces of work.

Dave G Cook says:
Once again another landscape that looks so familiar and then one sees the twist of Roger's idea and you realise that it's not somewhere you have been but somewhere you wish you could go. Thanks Roger for allowing us access to ypur world.
All the best Dave.

Scott Doseck says:
great blend of color and just the right amount of imagination.

Mike Mazur says
