The 2027 calendar features a selection of paintings by Roger Dean. The cover image, Arches Coda, is a work in progress, with the finished painting appearing in September. The original Arches Coda was used on the cover of Yes’s Live in Philadelphia album from 1976.

Each image is printed in deep saturated colour on heavy satin paper (300gsm satin) with blank backs, so the pages can be removed and mounted as individual prints if desired. Wire bound with a thumb cut and hanging loop.

January: Trauma (Snowy Owl)

The album cover for Trauma. Roger privately titled this version Snowy Owl, after the owl flying discreetly through the painting.

February: Discotheque

A technical drawing for a discotheque in Turkey, reimagined in a colourised version for the calendar.

March: Cactus Choir

Artwork for Cactus Choir, the solo album by Dave Greenslade. Roger loves the idea of an isolated house perched on a rock above a stormy sea.

April: The Magician’s Birthday

A new drawing created when BMG repackaged and reissued Uriah Heep’s The Magician’s Birthday.

May: Glass Hammer

Artwork for Glass Hammer, presented in a different colour palette from the original album cover.

June: In the Still of the Day

A painting created during a live painting session on a cruise down the Rhine.

July: The Floating Planet

The floating segments of a planet that first appeared in the world of Yes’s Fragile. This print comes from the painting created for Yessongs, with trees growing on the floating segments.

August: The Museum

A drawing of a museum Roger hopes to build.

September: Arches Coda with Trees

The completed version of Arches Coda, shown with trees that were absent from the original album cover.

October: Octopus

A highly detailed black and white drawing of an octopus, with subtle changes to the background, reproduced as a silkscreen print by Tsuruoka Silk.

November: Asia Indigo

A vivid futuristic cityscape that began as a black and white drawing before being transformed with colour.

December: Aurora

A painting created by Roger and Freyja together for Yes’s Aurora album.
